Thank you to everyone who took part in the live chat at the end of last week. 100 Lums have been give to everyone who participated.

If you think you should have received 100 Lums but have not, please let us know in this thread.

Here is the transcript from the chat for those who could not make it!

Question 1

Bentje : How long did it take to make the game??

Ubi_Ahmed: About three years.

Question 2

Klingel : In which programming language is it programmed?

Ubi_Rayman: It was programmed with C, C++ and ASM

Question 3

XarX : What was the biggest work in Rayman 3?

Ubi_Ahmed: One of the most difficult things was to have a lot of characters at the same time. For example the hundreds of ballons in the tower of the Leptys or the Hoodlums attacking in mass.

Sedarko : How old is rayman?

Ubi_Ahmed: It's an imaginary world. Age in this world is certainly not the same as in ours. But one thing is certain : Rayman got older in Rayman 3.

Question 5

l_ly: What made you decide to change Rayman's look?

Ubi_Ahmed: We wanted to give him a stronger personnality, more edgy and catchy.

Brandebokje : How did you get the inspiration for the Rayman 3 game?

Ubi_Ahmed: This is too large a question. We've kept this point in mind all of the time though : to mix cartoonish comedy and fantasy. For example, the fact that Globox has swallowed André permits a lot of silly action and it also gives the plot a strong goal (pretty close to that of LOTR

Blablamax : How many people work on the all team of rayman 3?

Ubi_Ahmed: At its maximum : 50.

Question 8

Ray_Man : When do you plan to relaese rayman 3 on the PC?

Ubi_Ahmed: March, the 20th, in Europe.

Question 9

Hoodlum09 : Do the Hoodlums have any kind of A.I.?

Ubi_Rayman: yes of course, they have their own behaviour and they have some strategies to attack rayman

Question 10

Blablamax : Does the game include secret bonus levels exlusive to the PS2 or the XBOX version ?

Ubi_Ahmed: There are no exclusive bonus levels in the PS2 and Xbox versions. But we strive to push the consoles to their limits.

Ubi_Ahmed: TVHD on PS2, and 5.1 sound on Xbox

Question 11

Ray_Man : how do you decide the names of the characters and the games?

Ubi_Ahmed: Each new character has its own origin. Razoff is a tribute to Zaroff (a bad guy in a great film called the most dangerous game).

Ubi_Ahmed: André is a pretty old french name. Only old people are called it. It was funny to call a really bad guy this name.

Dalspots : How many levels are there in the whole game?

Ubi_Ahmed: 56 maps = 46 maps in 11 different Universes + 1 final map + bonus maps

l_ly : Hehe...does Ly make an apperance in Rayman 3?

Ubi_Ahmed: Yes, but you have to look very carefully

Ryanmcd : Who designed Rayman’s new look?

Ubi_Ahmed: Stephane Zinetti (character designer) and Stanislas Mettra (Animator) in conjunction with all the whole team.

Blablamax : What is the biggest change on this game from the first&second?

Ubi_Ahmed: One of the most importance changes was the increasing of the world consistency and making the worlds burst with life.

McNeil : Why did you change Rayman´s permanent abilities to temporary?

Ubi_Ahmed: To give more stress and dynamics to the gameplay.

Ryanmcd : What was the most nerve-racking point in the development of Rayman 3?

Ubi_Ahmed: One of the most difficult things was to find the spirit of the game : humour, different atmospheres

Ryanmcd : Which characters from Rayman 2 are returning?

Ubi_Ahmed: Mainly the friends of rayman.

Question 19

Ryanmcd : The first black lum turns black, because he beholds something terrible. In the game, is it revealed what this terrible thing is?

Ubi_Ahmed: Go the end of the game, and you'll see.
Ubi_Ahmed: Then don't forget to enter your name into the hall of Fame

McNeil : about Demo....will full-version looks same or there will be some changes?

Ubi_Rayman: the engine has been optimized since the release of the demo, so the game is better

Elsee : Were you thinking of any certain target audience for Rayman 3?
Ubi_Ahmed: We wanted a game that everybody could enjoy. So we gave the game several levels of understanding

Question 22

Bentje : How did you came up with the idea to put voices in the game?

Ubi_Ahmed: We chose to put voice to enhance the personality, the humour and the vividness of the world.

Question 23

Sedarko : what is a squab, and what is its function

Ubi_Ahmed: You can use it as a platforme (but be polite, it's a living creature)

Bentje : Why cant you make different difficulties in the game?

Ubi_Ahmed: Actually there are different levels of difficulties
Ubi_Ahmed: They are just not called that.
Ubi_Ahmed: If you check out how the score system works , then you can see, that a good player can get combos and go over 400000 points
Ubi_Ahmed: beginners will certainly not get that high...

Question 25

McNeil : what is Lums quest on your pages?

ubi_cartrix: I can answer this question. The Lums Quest is a unique system that rewards your participation in the community
Ubi_cartrix: You can earn Lums in many ways - by joining in the forums, by finishing Rayman 3 and by taking part in this chat!
ubi_cartrix: You can then spend them on exclusive content and goodies on the Raymanzone!

Question 26

Hoodlum09 : If red lums are now dark and possesed, what do you collect for health?

Ubi_Ahmed: Not all lums are dark yet. That's why you have to save the world fast!
Ubi_Ahmed: There will be a way to transform dark lums back into red ones somewhere at the end of the game.

Question 27

Ryanmcd : What is the function of the new yellow crystals in Raymans world?
Ubi_Ahmed: It gives points. In Rayman world, crystals have been stolen by the hoodlums. That's why you can find some of them in the piggy banks.

Question 28

l_ly : What's a combo?

Ubi_Ahmed: When you score in a row, the score panel drops down. That's combo mode
Ubi_Ahmed: You have to hit in a row to keep it in combo mode. That gives you more points.

l_ly : Do you read what the fans get up to in the forums?

ubi_cartrix: Yes of course. We are always reading what you are write and also looking at your fansites!
Ubi_Ahmed: Yes of course ! The comments are often interesting and some of them will help us to understand what works in the game and sometimes what doesn't work as well as we thought.

Hoodlum09 : Is Razorbeard in the game?

Ubi_Ahmed: He is not.

Question 31

Bentje : Which video card will be the best to play Rayman 3 on PC?

Ubi_Rayman: you need at least a 3d card with hardware TnL (geforce or radeon for example), but if you want to have a very smooth game you need a geforce3 or ati radeon 8500

Question 32

Ryanmcd : Why did you focus on the teensies so much in this game, and why do the hoodlums put them in cages anyway?

Ubi_Ahmed: The hoodlums have not captured the teensises. In fact, the teensies are very polite. When they've seen the hoolums invading the world, they put themselves in cages.

Bentje : Are you planning to make a sequel??
Poroko : Is there realy coming a rayman 4?
Ubi_Ahmed: Yes. It will be different, but I can't say more.

I used Submit a fansite for my fansite and I dont know if my fansite was added to fansites list. I didnt got 1500 lums.

Yes I was there the whole time till everyone said bye and the UBI_ guys left and most people. and I did not get the 100 lums I even got there early

Cartrix! I don't know if you've listened to me, but there are lums being wrongly taken from our banks. This is preventing people to up-grade when OVER the lums number needed. What's going on? If you don't believe me, ask:
