Ok, noone has made a timeline for the Rayman Universe, so I might as well.
Note:This timeline uses real-world dates, assumes the there is a realtime distance between the rayman games and includes data about my fancharacters.
Here it is Below;
20000bc- The ShadowHunters come into existence. They are an elite group, chosen to fight evil in all its forms. Although the belief is that ShadowHunters have eternal youth, the truth is that they have somehow slowed down the aging process. Why Rayman neve3r became a ShadowHunter, we'll never know.
8001bc- The tyrant Lazroc takes control of the Knaaren Cavern.
8000bc- ShadowHunter Argo defeats Lazroc and imprisons him in a lightshpere. A statue was made in her(Argo's) honour.
7986bc- ShadowHunter Argo misteriously disappears. She is believed to have died, but her body is never found.
1899ce- Polokus falls into a deep slumber for the next hundred years.
1978ce- Varran is born in Leptys city, in the Knaaren Cavern
1985ce- Rayman is born.
1987ce- Relesan becomes a ShadowHunter. In previous fanfics he is known simply as ShadowHunter.
1989ce- Alkonium(character, not me) is born, he shortly after loses his biological parents in Mr. Dark's First Attack. The grand Minimus then becomes his adoptive father.
1995ce- The Original Raymantakes place.
1996ce- ShadowHunter Relesan imprisons Mr. Dark within an ancient ruined temple.
1999ce- Rayman II takes place
Lord Kilath invades Rayman's homeworld and is defeated by ShadowHunter Relesan
Lazroc escapes his prison and reduces the Knaaren cavern to a primitive pre-civilisation and the cavern itself to a network of tunnels. He is later destroyed by the magician from the original Rayman, who is also killed.
ShadowHunter Argo is found alive and well by ShadowHunter Relesan and Varran.
2001-2002ce- Rayman Arena/M takes place.
2002ce- Mr. Dark escapes from his prison. it takes ShadowHunters Relesan and Argo two years to recapture him.
2003ce- Rayman III takes place
2004ce- Free for All Roleplay II takes place.
2005ce*- Varran is killed protecting ShadowHunerts Argo and Relesan. His dying words are: "You saved my people. In death, I am merely returning the favour." He becomes the first non-ShadowHunter to join the Council of the Dead.
2006ce*- Rayman IV takes place.
If you see information that should be in my timeline, but isn't, tell me. I will only put it in if it doesn't conflict with what is already written.
* Since these events have not happened yet, it is possible that they won't happen. It is only the outcome of one possible future.

Ok, Jona, got your little bit of info in. I changed the date to 2001-2002 because it came out in 2002 for those of us in Canada and the US.

In my Cyber Freaks fic, it's determined that the Rayman games happen far in the future, and that Rayman was created not long before the first Rayman game. And he didn't always look like that too.

I'd mark it down, although the timeline clearly states that the Rayman games take place around the same time they are released. I am also going to welcome data about other peoples fancharacters.
Sidenote: I originally planned for ShadowHunter Argo to be a male limbless being, liked ShadowHunter Relesan, but scrapped that idea in favour of showing that the ShadowHunters are not sexist or racist.

No, 1994. You really don't know Rayman very well, do you? |
I'll mark it down as 1990 because Rayman couldn't have saved ythe world when he was a year old.
