|
|
Just got rayman 3 to my 5yr old sons and my delight, installed it on and discovered our game pads would not work!
I have tried on two systems now and three diffrent game pads
Logitech 4 button
N64 Controller hooked to an adaptoid
Wingman wireless rumblepad
All have been tested with various drivers and settings but cant get them to work in game! The inital setup detects the axis being moved but I cant use it in game or define what buttons I want to use
Help me out here |

| Funny, my Wingman Rumble pad works pretty well with the game, but it's not wireless. Computers will drive us all crazy! |

Rayfan do you have the logitech software installed? I have confirmed this on all three of my machines now Even after you uninstall the logitech wingman software it still prevents Gamepads from working in rayman 3, even non logitech brand gamepads....
I am / was using the recent Wingman Software From Logitechs site |

Having the same prob aswell. First of all with a logic3 usb intruder which wasn't picked up by the setup program or in game.
Today I bought Logitech Wingman rumblepad because others on the board had them working. But although the pad is picked up on the setup screen (camera anyway) it still doesn't work in game or let me re-assign buttons!!
Lets hope a patch will fix this and sooooooooon

found out this problem has two parts.....
The setup area also kills you.....
As long as I dont have the wingman software installed or go to the rayman 3 setup area I can use my wingman controller......but if I go to the setup area and it detects the gamepad thats it from there on out no controller will work.
And I really wish people would stop crapping on this thread. if you dont have any advice on how to help this matter then please keep your child-like comments to yourself! It is completely rude and immature. If you dont like this thread then dont read it. if you want to help or say that you are having this problem too then please feel free to post. |

Unfortunetly for me I cant run my wingman with no software support because other games wont detect it!!
Have the tech phone No for UBI (not the one listed) and will give them a ring on Monday.
Must admit i've never had a game that's give'n me this problem with pad support before.
My other logic3 pad is 3yrs old cheap and chearfull and ran on every game i needed it for. Paying out £25 for the wingman and £15 for Rayman3 (PC) it would of been cheaper to buy Rayman3 on console. |

Got this via email off Ubi support... "unistall and reinstall the game to a non-default directory."
Tried it but it didn't help at all, still can't use my wingman pad but it might work for someone else. _________________ If there's anything more important than my EGO.... I want it caught and shot! |

I think ubisoft is about to acknowlege the problem I have been back and forth with them for a bit and have sent them some files from my pc.
I even tried to make a profile with the logitech software for the keyboard controls and that still didn't work.
if you dont have the logitech software installed and intstall the game and never run the rayman 3 setup to adjust reolution and etc thenm the gamepad will work fine....
But if you have the logitech software installed or run the setup at any time it kills all controller support, even non logitech controllers
But my other machine that has no logitech controller or software doesnt matter what you do the gamepad always works. Of course untill I either install the logitech software or run the rayman 3 setup with my logitech controller attatched.
It may be just my controller mixed with that game though.. I have the Logitech Cordless Rumblepad. But every other game it works perfectly. Even Rayman 1 and 2 lol |

At least they're trying to help unlike other companies I could name!!
Had several emails off them myself and sent back dxdiag reports etc, so it looks like we've just got to wait till they sift through that lot.
BTW how did you run the game without first running the setup, it wont let me into Rayman without doing the setup and saving it. If i click on cancel it just pops up again and again every time I load the game. _________________ If there's anything more important than my EGO.... I want it caught and shot! |

Any further news on this issue? I have a Playstation 2 controller connected via a USB port which i would dearly love to use to play Rayman 3, but since I also have a Logitech Force 3D I am unable to use any controllers in the game at all.
This issue is KILLing my experience of the game... in fact I have stopped playing the game at the first boss because the keyboard control is so stilted that I can't even score a singe hit!!! (and I consider myself to be at least an average gamer! eg completed Rayman 2 and only really struggled with the final boss)
We need a patch to sort this!!
Please give us hope UbiSoft!?!?

Curious... have just reinstalled the Wingman 4.20 drivers and now I am able to use my Wingman Force 3D in Rayman 3...
Hooray! Except that it was actually my other controller that I want to use in the game!
Tried changing my prefered game controller to the PS gamepad but this made no difference in the game (the Force 3D still worked the PS controller did not)
Tried unplugging the Force 3D but PS controller still did not work.
Tried altering the invert axies options as suggested in this post... http://www.raymanzone.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4880 ...but PS controller still doesn't work.
Info on the PS controller... the gamepad is a 4Gamers PS Dual Shock, connected to the PC via a Boom PS Joy USB convertor (shows up in Control Panel as GIC USB Joystick). I have used this pad in a wide variety of games with no issues until Rayman 3.

More experimentation....
Dug out an old Logic3 PC Sprintpad from the attic. This is a simple 6 button digital gamepad that connects to the Gameport of the soundcard.
And... it works in the game no problem. (However I still can't score a single hit on that 1st boss guy... perhaps I am just really poor at this game after all lol!!)
So it seems that the Wingman software isn't neccesarily the problem? Or perhaps it is only blocking other USB controllers. BUT this still doesn't explain my problem getting my USB dualshock controller to work - which is what I'd really like to be using.
Ampa.
EDIT: Managed to get the boss on my 2nd attempt... just thought you 'd like to know |
